Alec Johnson
Role in Procurement Services
I am a Procurement Agent who handles promotional items, grounds equipment/supplies, janitorial services, classroom/art/music supplies, and photography services (among a few others).
Educational Background and Employment History
I graduated from Ames High School and received my degree from the University of Iowa in International Studies and Classics. Following school, I moved to Austin, Texas for two terms in Americorps (Texas Conservation Corps and Casa Verde Builders) where I met my wife who was on another TXCC crew. My last two roles prior to joining the Procurement Services team were Project Manager and eventually Account Executive with a local printing, apparel, promo, and design company (Sigler Companies).
What do you like to do outside of work?
Spending time with my family is my favorite thing to do outside of work and we enjoy time outside going for walks, hanging out in the yard, and exploring state parks. Beyond that, I also enjoy home improvement projects, reading, learning, creating, and BBQ.
Jason Utz
Role in Procurement Services
I am one of two IT Software and Hardware Procurement agents alongside Jake Miller. My primary categories are cell phones, computer supplies, software licenses, and subscriptions.
Educational Background and Employment History
I attended ISU from 2017-2021 and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Supply Chain Management. I spent a year working for Altec Industries as the Electronics Buyer for the manufacturing plant in St. Joseph, MO where they produced utility trucks before starting my new role here.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I am a big fan of movies and board games with my friends.
