Local Supplier Information
When using your P-Card or T&H Card to make purchases from any of the following suppliers, please note the individual supplier’s requirements for tax exemption or discounts for items purchased on behalf of Iowa State University.
In addition to the listed suppliers, there are several local suppliers who keep the Iowa State Tax Exemption information on hand for Iowa State University Employee use. At these Ames businesses P-Card or T&H Cardholders only need to show or use the tax exemption number on the card sleeve. If you need a card sleeve, please email cardservices@iastate.edu to request one be sent to your University address (please make sure to include if you need a P-Card Sleeve or a T&H Card Sleeve).
For any other supplier in the state of Iowa, please complete the Sales Tax Exemption Request Form and Procurement Services will provide you with a completed Tax Exemption Certificate to be used for purchases on behalf of Iowa State University.

Fleet Farm
You will now be asked for a phone number associated with the Iowa State University Tax Exemption when you request tax exemption at a physical Fleet Farm store. Please make sure to have this phone number handy when checking out to ensure purchases made on behalf of Iowa State University will be tax-exempt. The phone number is also printed on the card sleeves provided by Procurement Services. If you would like a new or replacement card sleeve, please reach out to cardservices@iastate.edu.

Home Depot
Use the Iowa State University Home Depot Tax ID Number to ensure purchases made on behalf of Iowa State University will be tax-exempt. The tax exemption number can be used in any physical store at the checkout.
Before making a purchase from Home Depot, please make sure to first check with Central Stores. If they can't provide the item, check the cyBUY Grainger contract for the item(s) you wish to purchase.
HyVee
Use the Iowa State University Tax Exempt Number to ensure purchases made on behalf of Iowa State University will be tax-exempt. The tax exemption number can be used in any physical store at the checkout. This number is also printed on the card sleeve provided by Procurement Services. Lowe’s
Use the Lowe's PRO Catalog, which is now available through the cyBUY Marketplace, to make purchases at Lowe's on behalf of Iowa State University. The Lowe's PRO Catalog contains contracted pricing, that is discounted from Lowe's consumer website pricing, and is tax exempt. Once you submit your order through the cyBUY Marketplace, you, or the individual you designate, can go to any Lowe's location you select and pick up the order. Delivery options are also available.

Before making a purchase from Lowe’s PRO, please make sure to first check with Central Stores. All orders will be reviewed prior to submission to Lowe’s PRO to ensure they are not available for a lower cost through Central Stores.
Menards
Use the Iowa State University Menards Tax Exempt Barcode to ensure purchases made on behalf of Iowa State University will be tax-exempt. The tax exemption barcode can be used in any physical store at the checkout.

Michaels
Use the Iowa State University Michaels PRO Barcode to receive a discount on your in-store purchases made on behalf of Iowa State University and ensure that they will be tax-exempt. You may also submit a Michaels PRO Online Account Request to be added to the Iowa State University Michaels PRO account to make online purchases on behalf of Iowa State University.
Before purchasing from Michaels, please check the ISU Bookstore Art and Office Supplies and the cyBUY catalogs for the item(s) you wish to purchase.
Sam’s Club
Use the Procurement Services Membership Card to make purchases at the Ames Sam’s Club on behalf of Iowa State University and ensure that they will be tax-exempt.
When you shop at the Ames store, let the cashier know that you will need to use the Iowa State University Procurement Services Membership Card when you checkout with your P-Card or T&H Card (the cashier will ask to see the card).
This Sam’s Club Membership has been purchased by Procurement Services, can only be used in the physical store in Ames, Iowa, and can not be used for online purchases or purchases made at other Sam's Club locations.

Target

Use the Iowa State University Walmart Tax ID Number to ensure purchases made on behalf of Iowa State University will be tax-exempt. The tax exemption number can be used in any physical store at the checkout.
***As of 8/14/2023, the Duff Avenue Walmart in Ames will require you to provide a screenshot of the document linked above to receive tax exemption on your purchases made on behalf of Iowa State University AND/OR require you to go to customer service to get a tax exempt ID card that is specific to the Duff Avenue Walmart.
The North Grand Walmart in Ames only requires the Walmart Tax ID Number linked above.
