Tera Lawson

Role in Procurement Services - Training, Development, and Outreach Coordinator

I will be working on training, development, and outreach to Iowa State University Employees and I’m excited to begin working with the Procurement Services Employees as well as ISU Employees both on and off campus.  My hope is that we can work together to improve our communication and support of one another as we move forward in our new normal.  I will also be working with Federal Reporting Close-Outs as well as Small Business and Inclusive Business Spending.

Educational Background and Employment History

I’m a two time Iowa State University Alumna and have been an Iowa State Employee for 17.5 years.  I guess you could say I’m an Iowa Stater through and through! I hold a B.S. in Journalism and Mass Communications, Sociology and a M.Ed. in Higher Education, with an emphasis in Leadership and Learning from Iowa State University.  Before accepting my current position in Procurement Services, I worked in the Center for Technology in Learning and Teaching in the School of Education, and before that, I worked at Ames Laboratory in the Midwest Forensics Resource Center. I am currently serving on the Professional and Scientific Council as the Chair of the Professional Development Committee and the Chair of the Professional and Scientific Council Professional Development Conference.  I am also Co-Directing Cardinal Women* (a personal and professional development program for those staff and faculty who identify as women at Iowa State University) with my Co-Director and Co-Founder Denise Williams-Klotz.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I enjoy spending time with friends and family, photography and pretty much all crafty and artistic things, and traveling.

Stephanie Schoeller

Role in Procurement Services - Procurement Agent I

I will be purchasing lower dollar items within both lab and IT supply categories.

Educational Background and Employment History

I have two degrees, one in Japanese from the University of Iowa and one in Studio Arts (Printmaking and Metalwork) from Iowa State University. I’ve been working with Iowa State University full time since May of 2014. I started out working for the University Book Store as the art and office supply buyer/supervisor for a little over four years. I then moved out of retail to work for the College of Design’s Student Services office for almost a year before moving to ISD as a Finance Specialist prior to coming here.

What do you like to do outside of work?

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with friends and family, working on my artwork, playing video games and tabletop games, walks around Ada Hayden, trivia nights at Time Out, going to movies and reading with one of my cats on my lap.

Carole Gill

Role in Procurement Services - Business Manager

My duties will include assisting with budgeting, monitor expenses and oversee any departmental accounting processes.  I will oversee the department's IT services, assist with the reporting of the Targeted Small Business (TSB) and the Conflict of Interest (COI) vendors.  I will also work directly with the HR support of ISD on the recruitment, review process and reclassification of staff.

Educational Background and Employment History

I have a BBA in Accounting from Iowa State University.  After graduation, I went to work for First National Bank as an Accounting Supervisor in the Trust Department.  After completing their officer trainee program, I became the Branch Manager of the North Grand and Cubs branch.  After 10 years, I made the move to Iowa State as an Accountant III in the Controller’s Department.  I was hired to reconcile the bank statements, pay both the excise and sales taxes.  At the end of my first year, I accepted the position as Assistant Manager of Accounting where I oversaw the Accounts Payable department.  After about 6 years, I accepted the position of Manager of Accounting.  I move from the Controller’s Department to Improve Service Delivery (ISD) this past July as a Finance Specialist II.  On December 2, I accepted my new position with Procurement Services.

What do you like to do outside of work?

Outside of work, I like to run, bike, play tennis and hang out with my boys!

Becky Rogers

Role in Procurement Services - Program Assistant

I will be helping with certificates of insurance, supplier registrations, blue tags, and the Procurement help desk.

Educational Background and Employment History

I received my associate degree from Waldorf College, and my bachelor’s from ISU. After graduation, I worked in product management at HyVee for nine years, and then switched gears and joined Story Construction where I worked in the accounts payable department for six years. I returned to the Iowa State community in 2018 to work in the controller’s department, and in January joined the procurement services department as a program assistant.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I have an eight-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son, so I enjoy spending time together with my husband and children. We enjoy participating in community events, cheering on the Cyclones, and seeking out special towns and sites around Iowa. A long… long…time ago I really enjoyed scrapbooking, but as technology advances and my free time decreases, I’m becoming very fond of making picture books online! Bike riding has become a new hobby, not the need for speed biking, more of a leisurely ride around town with the kids.
