Disinfecting your copier?

Make sure you're doing it correctly!


It's important to keep high traffic areas of the office clean, especially your copiers. We've compiled a list of cleaning tips to help you keep your copiers germ and water damage-free. You can also hang these helpful cleaning infographics from Toshiba, Xerox, and Ricoh near your copier.

Cleaning Dos

Use an alcohol-based cleaner with at least 70% concentration.

✓ Turn off machines before cleaning to avoid malfunctions.

Spray cleaner onto a clean soft cloth and use it to wipe the machine.

Wipe surfaces gently to avoid cracking screens or damaging buttons. 

Consider getting a touchscreen stylus for printer touch screens to reduce touching

Cleaning Don'ts

 Never attempt to clean the original glass or scanning area with alcohol 

 Do not use ammonia-based or chlorine-based cleaners.

 Do not apply liquids directly to devices.

 Do not over-saturate the cleaning cloth. Dripping/soaking cloths can damage your machine.

Don't use abrasive cleaners or cleaning materials (scrub brushes, scouring pads etc.)
