Cory Harms
Role in Procurement Services: Director
Cory is the Director of Procurement Services and also serves as the Chief Procurement Officer for Iowa State University.
Educational Background and Employment History
Cory received his Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science in Logistics from Iowa State University. Cory started his career at Iowa State as an IT buyer, became the Assistant Director of Procurement Services in 2002, and now serves as the Chief Procurement Officer. He has been employed by Iowa State for 22 years!
Cory has been involved with the National Association of Educational Procurement (NAEP) at both the national and regional level throughout his entire procurement career. He has been a member of 4 committees, served on the journal editorial board and served as president at both the national and regional level. He has presented at regional and annual meetings at least 12 times and written over 30 articles for the Educational Procurement Journal. He was awarded the Young Professional in Procurement award, the Professional Perspective award (twice!), the Neil Markee Communicator of the Year Award, and the Distinguished Service Award.
What do you like to do outside of work?
In his free time, Cory likes hiking, kickboxing and doing landscaping.
