Paymode-X and Candex - What's happening and why?

Iowa State is using Candex and Paymode-X to make payments to individuals and suppliers electronically.  Procurement Services continues to receive requests for electronic payments instead of check payments and by utilizing two different services we have been able to make that happen! 

 

What you need to know!

  • Candex and Paymode-X are being used by Iowa State University to make payments electronically.
  • You don’t need to do anything differently!
    • The process to request payments to individuals and suppliers has not changed! 
      • You will still need to request payment through your Finance Service Delivery team using the process required for that situation. 
      • The payment process for many situations can be found on the Procurement and Payment Methods Webpage.
  • Both are external services and have registration processes for the individuals or suppliers.
  • Both are optional, the individual or company can still choose to receive payments via check.

 

Candex

Iowa State is using Candex (a payment software and services provider) to move from check payments to electronic ACH payments for individuals who are being paid $2,000 or less, do not have a conflict of interest, and are being paid for any of the following (that does not have or need a signed agreement):

  • Awards/Prizes
  • Honoraria
  • Lecturer, Seminar, or Guest Speaker
  • Student-Teacher Supervision
  • Contest/Judge/Referee
  • Panel Discussion Member
  • Entertainer, Musician, Performer, Comedian, DJ, Vocalist/Singer

Paymode-X

Iowa State is using Paymode-X (a payment software and services provider available through our contract with U.S. Bank) to move from check payments to electronic ACH payments for companies who have enrolled in Paymode-X.

Paymode-X is reaching out to suppliers who have already registered in Workday to determine their interest in receiving payments through Paymode-X.
